I’ve long been a fan of Bloc Party and when frontman Kele Okereke announced earlier this year that we’d be seeing a solo project from him pretty soon, I got excited for it.
It turned out to not be what I expected it to be those few months ago, but instead a seemingly continuation of Bloc Party’s last album “Intimacy”, especially the more dance/electronic-fueled tracks. Alicia over at BaebelMusic got in touch with me to let me know about a showcase he recently did for them featuring some cuts from his new solo album “The Boxer” as well as a mixtape he chose for them.
