Today has just been mental if you’re an Arcade Fire fan, or if you’re just a regular fan of a non-Arcade Firey band and you were trying to navigate your way through music blogs and websites who are not writing about them (they are few and far between).
Over the weekend their new single “Reflektor” leaked and people went apeshit over it, then today they unveiled an amazing interactive video for song, after which they then released a non-interactive video directed by Anton Corbijn, then they showed up to a tiny show in Montreal with giant faces, and then as all was finally revealed at 9pm we got the lowdown on their new album.
Titled Reflektor, it’ll be released on October 28th/29th (as was already revealed) via Merge, feature the above artwork, and will be a double album comprised of 13 songs. In addition to this, on September 28th they’ll be the musical guests on SNL, and the venue they played tonight (Salsatheque) will host them Tuesday and Wednesday as well, so if you’re in Montreal and want to try to grab an extremely limited ticket, good luck. It’s also now available on Spotify.
Pre-orders for the album are happening now, and below you can watch the video for “Reflektor”, as well as a couple of trailers for the album.
