New Burial EP “Kindred” To Be Released In February, Features Three New Songs

Burial to release new EP "Kindred" in February 2012

Burial‘s recently announced EP “Kindred” will be released on February 4th and feature three new songs.

Last week it was announced that Burial will release a new EP called “Kindred”, however that was the only other information given when Hyperdub’s founder Kode9 announced it via Twitter.

In the tweet he said that more information would be forthcoming via Hyperdub’s mailing list but if you don’t want to wait for that to show up, here’s the deets. The Japanese site Beatink already has a pre-order page up for the CD version of the EP featuring the three tracks that made up his last EP (“NYC”, “Street Halo”, and “Stolen Dog”) as well as three new songs “Kindred”, “Loner”, and “Wasp Ashtray” (or Ashtray Wasp depending on the translation).

The EP will see the light of days on February 4th in Japan which is a Saturday, meaning the U.S. and U.K. will likely get it on the Monday (6th) and Tuesday (7th) after that date.  It’s still a couple of months away and dates and tracklistings are subject to change (the EP may well only feature the three new songs outside of Japan), but at least for now we know we’re getting three new Burial tracks fairly soon. If you missed the previous EP you can check out the tracks below.

UPDATE: You can check out a preview of one of the new songs “Ashtray Wasp” below. It sounds sick!
