[Introducing] – 3 1/2

Los Angeles-based 3 1/2 specialize in lo-fi, off-the-wall, psychedelically experimental, rootsy indie pop that could be placed somewhere in between Pocahaunted and Best Coast (with a dash of other L.A. hellcats, Hecuba, just for that prog-pop feel).

[Ones To Watch] – Introducing – Jagwar Ma

Jagwar Ma’s “Come Save Me” has a feel of Kasabian or Death In Vegas, which I guess equates to old-school psychedelia filtered through a big beat/rave-inspired ’90s-Manchester rock lens. Elsewhere, he sounds like The Orb. It’s all very good.

[Listen/Download] – Ten Of The Greatest Cover Versions Of All Time?

So, cover songs? It’s almost a taboo term in the music blogosphere. It almost goes without saying that everyone who makes a post about them has to start with ‘I’m not usually a fan of covers but…”.  I don’t see the big problem; I’m a massive fan of remixes and covers. I know the standard [...]
