Watch Justin Vernon and Sean Carey from Bon Iver take on a live acoustic session in AIR Studios for the labels 4AD and Jagjaguwar.
Following their recent Grammy win, Justin Vernon of Bon Iver has gone into the studio with fellow bandmate Sean Carey to record some acoustic versions of some of their songs. The pair take on “Hinnom, TX“, “Wash.” and “Beth/Rest” from their critically acclaimed sophomore album “Bon Iver, Bon Iver”, one of our favorite albums of last year, their now infamous version of Bonnie Raits‘ “I Can’t Make You Love Me” and “Babys” from Bon Iver’s “Blood Bank” EP.
All songs sound fantastic stripped down from the excess instrumentation, and both Vernon and Carey have stellar vocal performances, which makes the session a must-see. Be sure to watch it below, because Vernon has recently gone on record saying that there probably won’t be another Bon Iver record in “three or five years”.
