[Watch] – New Video By Arcade Fire – “The Suburbs” (Directed By Spike Jonze)

I’ve noticed that Win Butler (Arcade Fire‘s head honcho) has been wearing a fair amount of militaristic clothing lately.

I suppose it’s nothing entirely new, he’s kinda been doing that since their inception, but this year it seems like it’s more along the same lines as Chris Martin and Coldplay did with their latest album “Living La Vida Loca” and its French Revolutionary War imagery.

This new video for “The Suburbs”, directed by Spike Jonze, has a political and militaristic theme to it, much like M.I.A.’s “Born Free”, but with less ginger-genocide.  The song fits pretty well with the video, and even the theme throughout the entire album, that of being trapped in a suburban nightmare; bland, boring, and extremely dangerous (you’ve seen Weeds, right?).  I don’t mind if you get all political and shit, just don’t turn your music into shit, guys, ok?

Well check it out, it’s worth a watch, and grab the MP3 whilst you’re at it.
