This live video of “Josh McBride” and “Oh Virginia” is case and point why The Head And The Heart are one of my all-time favorite bands. Each time they play it is absolutely incredible, you would be in a tough argument to try and persuade me into believing there is actually a better band to see live (I’m open to Arcade Fire (possibly) but that’s my only concession).
If you lack an attention span start at 5:05. Not that “Josh McBride” isn’t a great song or worth watching but when “Oh Virginia” comes in that’s when the magic happens!
The first time I put this on I had it going in the background and started thinking “man, that one guy sounds a LOT like Damien Jurado,” only when i replayed it did I notice that Damien Jurado actually is there just relaxing and listening along. If you are not familiar with Jurado it’s time you did something about that since the dude is our generation’s Bruce Springsteen, and that’s not an understatement.
