This year (and decade) isn’t even five months old yet and we’ve had some of the best music in the last five years. Notable albums from LCD Soundsystem, Broken Social Scene, Surfer Blood, Vampire Weekend, Caribou, Sleigh Bells, Joanna Newsom…..I could go on and on. But in amongst all of those are Harlem, an Austin-based band who released “Hippies” at the start of April.
So far, personally, “Hippies” is in my top…..seven. That list is always changing though. Anyway, check out my feature on them from back in March and listen to three of their songs. Below you can see them perform “Be Your Baby” and “Someday Soon” live for Chicagoans FOR NO ONE.
